Gamberi, aglio, olio e peperoncino

Prawns with garlic, oil and chilli

Everyone knows spaghetti aglio, olio and peperoncino, so if you like that, you'll love these prawns. Serve as a starter or make more and serve with a salad for a light and tasty meal. Great with crusty bread and a glass of prosecco. You could shell the prawns if you want to make them easier to serve. Ingredients for 4 people:

  1. Enough raw king prawns per person

  2. 2-3 cloves garlic

  3. Good amount of olive oil

  4. 1-2 fresh chillies depending on your taste

  5. Fresh parsley and crusty bread to serve

Method:

  1. Prep the prawns buy removing the head, cutting down the spine and taking out the vein. Wash and dry well.

  2. Heat oil in a pan on medium heat. Peel and fry the garlic in olive oil for 2-3 mins.

  3. Chop the chillies, leave the seeds in if you like it spicy. Add to the pan.

  4. Add the prawns and turn them frequently until they are pink. This should take about 2-3 mins on medium heat.

  5. Remove the garlic add the parsley.

  6. Serve with a salad, bread or however you fancy!
